Our Ranch Story
GEL Cattle Ranch began with a simple wish: to raise beef we felt good about serving our own family.
As first-time ranchers, we also wanted to hold on to something worth keeping: the land, the work, and the American tradition of raising cattle. When friends tried our beef and came back for more, that family project grew.
Today, we raise Aberdeen Angus cross cattle in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee. We are still a small, family-owned ranch, guided by the same care for our cattle and pride in the beef we share.
Life on the Pasture
Our approach starts in the pasture. We use Halter virtual fencing to move our cattle to a new grazing area each day, giving grazed areas time to rest.
The herd has free access to naturally flowing springs and shade when needed. We pay attention to the everyday essentials: room to graze, water, shelter from the sun, and steady care.
Modern tools have a place here, and so do ranching traditions. When a move calls for hands-on help, we use horses as needed, with the aim of keeping cattle handling calm and low stress.
Our beef cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished. From the daily moves to the finish, our goal is beef we are proud to put on our own table—and share with yours.
